A Unique Approach to Bodywork
Hana Alishio, LMT offers a full range of therapeutic massage services, however she prefers to focus on Active Release Technique® (ART®) because it provides her patients with more immediate and lasting results.
The first difference you'll notice about an ART® session is that you remain clothed, wearing comfortable, loose-fitting clothing or athletic wear that allows you to move and stretch.
The next difference is how Hana assesses what your body needs: she'll begin each session with manual muscle function tests using NeuroKinetic Therapy (NKT®). These simple resistance movements enable her to detect the underlying patterns your body has been using to compensate for past injuries, surgeries, and the normal "wear and tear" of daily life. Hana will then utilize specific ART® protocols on the affected areas, during which you will occasionally assist her with gentle movements.
Before Your First Visit

Book an Appointment (if you haven't already).

You'll be prompted to fill out a detailed Intake Form.

Come to the appointment wearing comfortable clothes such as a T-shirt, yoga pants, sweatpants, or running shorts—anything that allows you to move and stretch freely.

Expect to spend the first 10 minutes of your first appointment going through your information, testing your movement, and making an assessment for treatment.

AKARI Therapeutic does NOT accept health insurance and we do NOT bill any insurance carrier directly. However, if you have out-of-network benefits and your insurance carrier will reimburse you for my services, I am happy to provide a Verification of Services letter (superbill) upon request.
